At Casepak we recognise that different organisations have different recycling and waste management needs. We also understand that if you are to achieve the best resource recovery rates, it’s important that you find a recycling partner with systems that work for you.
At Casepak we have two recycling facilities:
A Collections and Processing Facility for source segregated materials
A Materials Recycling Facility for dry mixed recyclables
Both are centrally located in Leicester and each processes approximately 150,000 tonnes of recyclable materials a year. This means that we can support most commercial, industrial and local authority collection types, allowing you to develop your recycling solution without any constraints.
The Casepak MRF was built and is operated to deliver local authority recycling excellence.
For those authorities with dry mixed recycling collections, our MRF provides a simple way of meeting TEEP compliance. It also exceeds MRF Code of Conduct requirements, giving you the reassurance that your recycling is the best that it can be.
At Casepak we operate a programme of continuous monitoring and grading. When combined with our rigorous reporting and partnership approach, this ensures that local authorities achieve the best value service, optimum material diversion and value, and performance excellence.
The MRF is one of the most advanced of its kind in the UK. Operational since 2012, the facility benefits from an ongoing upgrade programme, ensuring that it is always able to divert maximum material fractions while delivering the best possible material qualities.

Our Collections and Processing Facility has been developed to sort, grade and trade source segregated paper, card and plastics. It typically provides the recycling services required by commercial and industrial customers within the following sectors:
The facility offers a wide range of support services, including the supply of specialist recycling equipment, the development of waste management plans and materials collection services.
For waste management companies we can provide short term materials storage and sorting to assist with collection fluctuations or service transfers. We can also provide materials trading services through our partner company Oceala.

At Casepak we can process paper and cardboard collected as part of either a source segregated recycling collection or a dry mixed recycling collection.
The lists below detail the type of paper and card that can be processed. If your material doesn’t meet this description, please call us on 0116 286 7772 and we’ll be happy to work with you to find a recycling solution.
Paper and card recycled by Casepak is supplied to paper mills and used by the following industries:
It is important that paper and cardboard is kept dry and clean to ensure maximum landfill diversion and recycling value. We will work with you to improve qualities, behaviours and participation where required. Improvement campaigns might involve a complete collection, or a specific geographical or organisational location and will often focus on benchmarking current collection qualities through our reporting system. This can highlight areas for improvement and/or be used to develop awareness and incentive programmes.
At Casepak we can process glass from source segregated or dry mixed recycling collections.
The list below details the type of glass that can be processed. If your material doesn’t meet this description, please call us on 0116 286 7772 and we’ll be happy to work with you to find a recycling solution.
Glass recycled at the Casepak MRF is mainly marketed to reprocessors and aggregate companies in the UK.
To maximise the quality of recovered glass, the MRF incorporates a glass washing plant.
At Casepak we can process hard grade and film grade plastics from source segregated or dry mixed recycling collections.
The list below details the type of plastic that can be processed. If your material doesn’t meet this description, please call us on 0116 286 7772 and we’ll be happy to work with you to find a recycling solution.
Items that can be recycled include: drinks bottles (all types including milk, water, fizzy drinks, cleaning products and beauty products), food trays and containers (rigid plastic), film and bags (including carrier bags and bubble wrap).
Hard grade plastics recycled by Casepak are mainly marketed to UK reprocessors. Some film grade plastic is sold to overseas reprocessors. This is in line with stringent protocols of the waste shipment regulations and the auditing processes of the Environment Agency. Casepak ensures there is a clear audit trail, which is used by the Environment Agency to certify that any exported materials are sent to licenced and responsible facilities.
Effective waste management programmes always start with an audit of materials, processes and behaviours. Regardless of organisation size or operation, the audit will provide you with the benchmark data from which to monitor and report progress. You can use this to:
Waste management programmes
We will use the data from the waste audit to develop a waste management programme that:
All programmes are bespoke, but might include changes to on-site recycling equipment to encourage improved behaviours or material qualities. Alternatively, collection methods or logistics solutions may be changed to reduce costs and carbon impacts. Finally, new materials might be added to the programme to reduce landfill tax and improve sustainability.
To ensure management teams and operational staff understand and engage with new waste management programmes, we provide on-site communications and education programmes together with supporting materials. This ensures new processes are adopted quickly.
Once a waste management programme is in place, we’ll instigate regular reviews to maximise service results, ensuring that you get the very best resource value. We’ll also be on hand to help whenever you need it – for example arranging quick turnaround collections when you have unusually high volumes of waste and recyclable materials.
Casepak has a fleet of recycling collection vehicles to transport your recovered materials back to our facilities if needed. Our fleet comprises a variety of vehicle sizes and types to accommodate different materials, quantities and collection methods. We also have vehicles that are suitable for use in areas of limited or restricted access.
Our logistics team arranges collection programmes for organisations across the UK and can also quickly accommodate emergency call outs to accommodate fluctuations in arisings.
We can supply the following recycling equipment to support your on-site paper and card recycling:
Once sorted and graded, materials recycled at Casepak facilities will be marketed to reprocessors. Wherever possible, Casepak sends materials for reprocessing within the UK. This trading function is provided by our partner company Oceala.
