This year has got off to a good start for Casepak with the upgrade of equipment at our Collections & Processing site in Enderby.
In order to meet the increase in volume of materials, a new fully automatic baler was unveiled earlier this month to replace the existing machine (aptly named ‘The Terminator’).
The new Lyndex B Max baler weighs 46 tonnes and can process high density materials (cardboard) at 22 – 23 tonnes per hour and lower density items (shredded paper) at 63 – 73 tonnes per hour.
To welcome the new addition we decided to hold a ‘name the baler’ competition, where employees at the Enderby site were invited to submit their suggestions. After careful consideration of all entries, the board of directors chose the winning entry and christened the new baler, ‘King George’ – a fitting tribute to Casepak’s late founder and chairman, George Smith.
The winner of the competition was Mobile Plant Operator, Tom Larkin who was rewarded with a cash prize of £100.
The King George baler has already proved faster and more efficient than The Terminator and will be more than capable of processing the increase in volume of material.
Thank you to everyone who entered … we are looking forward to the next ‘name the’ competition.
