Lemonpath is a Midlands-based contract packing and logistics company that uses its modern facilities to offer a highly flexible, comprehensive and reliable service to its clients across several different sectors.
Having discovered that it was producing large amounts of paper, cardboard and plastic waste across its two Leicestershire sites, the company turned to Casepak for advice on implementing an effective waste management programme. In doing so, it hoped to increase the efficiency of Lemonpath’s waste recovery and the reliability of its waste collection service.
Following a comprehensive waste audit, Casepak provided both sites with a range of compacting and baling systems to enable Lemonpath to improve its waste handling. This equipment was supplemented with a range of waste containers that ensure waste can be sorted more easily. In addition, Casepak also provided Lemonpath with an ad hoc collection programme, which sees Casepak transport the palletised waste, hazardous waste and residual waste that the sites produce to be converted into Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF).
The combination of baling and compaction machinery, together with an effective collection service, has helped Lemonpath to ensure that zero waste is sent to landfill from either of its sites. Since Casepak’s waste solutions were introduced to the sites, Lemonpath has produced around 430 tonnes of waste materials each year. As a result of the improvements, these materials are now properly processed and recycled where possible, to recover value for the company and help its drive for sustainability.
