As we find ourselves in the midst of what continues to be a challenging year for everybody, ‘Recycle Week 2020’ is upon us.
Taking place from 21 – 27 September 2020, the theme of this year’s Recycle Week is: ‘Thanking the nation: ‘Together – We Recycle’.
Despite the uncertainty and difficulties that the COVID-19 pandemic presents, this year’s campaign, delivered by Recycle Now, aims to thank the nation for continuing its recycling efforts, as well as acknowledging key workers and other operatives in the waste and recycling sector who have simply kept on going.
This is something we’d also like to echo here at Casepak. We are so thankful that we have such a fantastic team who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to ensure our services have always been able to continue with minimal disruption.
Whilst we’ve faced our own challenges, such as the sheer amount of material entering the MRF during lockdown, coupled with added contamination, we’ve managed to put processes in place to mitigate their impact. We could not do this without the help of our staff and local authority partners who continue to spread the message of recycling best practice.
Recycle Week is for everyone and you can get involved by sharing your recycling stories via social media and using the hashtag #RecycleWeek. Why not share a photo of how you separate materials at home, or how to ensure bathroom products don’t get forgotten about when recycling household products? It’s all about sharing ideas and inspiring others to do the same.
Don’t forget to check out Casepak’s handy guide to recycling, which can be accessed here, and provides essential tips on how to recycle right at home. Just a few of our top tips include:
Let’s all keep up the good work and keep on recycling.
