We’re a charitable bunch here at Casepak and the last few months have seen fantastic efforts from two of our company’s stars.
Earlier this year Alex Girvan (pictured bottom left), Casepak’s financial administrator grew a beautifully sculpted beard. But after four months of sporting his trendy facial hair, he was itching to shave it off … not before turning it into a charitable opportunity and rallying round friends, family and colleagues to raise a brilliant £158. The money was donated to the Alzheimer’s Society, in memory of Casepak’s founder, George Smith.
Production manager David Cullen scaled the Brecon Beacons (bottom right image) in June to raise money for Action Medical Research, a children’s charity helping sick babies and children. He and three other team mates took part in the Race to the Sun challenge – a taxing 50 mile assault course which included bike rides, canoeing and trekking around the Beacons. David and his team completed the course in 8 hours and 22 minutes raising more than £2,500 for the charity. Plans are already in place for next year’s challenge where David aims to beat his finishing time!
