The Casepak team were delighted to raise £700 at two Macmillan Coffee Mornings. One coffee morning took place on Friday 30th September at Casepak’s headquarters in Enderby, where £197.48 was raised. The second coffee morning was held at Casepak’s MRF on Friday 7th October and raised £346.36. Casepak’s Senior Management Team donated extra funds, rounding the total up to £700.
Members of the Casepak team at each site created a variety of sweet treats which were enjoyed by all. From chocolate and red velvet cakes to scones and tiffin, the time and effort that each baker put into their baked goodies was fantastic to see.
Each site was set to title the most impressive cake creator “The Best Baker”, however at Casepak headquarters in Enderby, this was particularly challenging due to the quality and quantity of all the cakes on offer. The award was subsequently changed to “The Best Faker”, and was presented to Ben Grundy, who had bought a cake rather than making it himself.
Blaby District Council’s Group Manager for Neighbourhood Services, Kevin Pegg, and Director of People and Finance, Sarah Penelli, were invited to sample and judge the delights at the MRF site. Caja Irso-Coombes, Casepak’s Business Support Administrator, was awarded first place for her chocolate rum cake. Business Development Director, Georgina Cullen came second with her tiffin cake, and Accounts Supervisor Tammy Patterson’s delicious choux buns were the bronze medal winner.
Macmillan Cancer Support offers help and advice to cancer sufferers from the point of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond, and has given many patients a source of hope during difficult times. Casepak is proud to have raised a total of £700 for this worthwhile charity, and hopes that the funds raised will go some way to helping more cancer patients access the help they deserve.
